MORE THAN A SURFACE CLEAN

Our carpet & upholstery cleaning process

More than just a surface clean. Our carpet and upholstery cleaning process combines dry-soil removal, suitable pre-treatment, agitation where appropriate, hot water extraction, an optional deodorising finish and airflow to help drying. We adapt the method to the material, condition and level of soiling.

HOW WE CLEAN

Care at every stage.

Before choosing the approach, we consider the material, care information, condition and any particular stains. The sequence below explains our usual approach on suitable items.

  1. 01

    SEBO XP10

    Professional vacuuming

We start suitable carpets with thorough dry vacuuming to remove loose dirt, dust, hair and debris. This prepares the pile before cleaning solutions are applied, so the next stages can focus on embedded soiling. Upholstery is prepared with tools suited to its fabric.

Remove dry soil before the deep clean.

  2. 02

    Carefully selected cleaning solutions

    Material-appropriate pre-spray

We choose a suitable pre-spray for the carpet or upholstery fabric, its condition and the type of soiling. This helps loosen everyday grime and certain marks ahead of cleaning. Share care-label information, known stains and any products previously used so we can adapt the treatment.

Match the treatment to the material.

  3. 03

    SEBO DUO · Suitable carpets

    Professional agitation where suitable

For carpets that benefit from additional brushing, we select an appropriate agitation method to help loosen soiling within the pile. Our SEBO DUO provides counter-rotating carpet brushing where suitable; products and use must follow the equipment and carpet guidance. This stage is adapted or omitted for materials that need a different approach.

    Give embedded dirt extra attention.

Ashbys Enforcer · Up to 400 PSI capability

    Hot water extraction

On suitable carpets and upholstery, hot water extraction rinses the fibres with an appropriate cleaning solution while the machine recovers loosened dirt, residues and moisture. We adapt the method and pressure to the item: the Enforcer’s 400 PSI capability is not a fixed setting for every fabric.

Our signature Lotus & Cotton fragrance

    Optional deodorising treatment

Where appropriate, we can apply a suitable deodorising treatment with our signature Lotus & Cotton fragrance for a fresh finish. Tell us about fragrance preferences or sensitivities before the visit. Any antibacterial benefit depends on the exact product and its approved application instructions; we do not promise sterilisation or a blanket bacteria-removal result.

    A fresh finish, where appropriate.

  6. 06

    Dri-Pod air mover

    Professional drying support

We use the Dri-Pod to encourage airflow across the cleaned floor surface and support moisture evaporation. Actual drying time varies with the material, pile thickness, room temperature, ventilation and retained moisture. We explain aftercare for your clean and when to put the room or furniture back into use.

    Support drying with effective airflow.

HELPFUL ANSWERS

Your cleaning process questions.

All cleaning FAQs
What are the stages of Ultra Clean’s carpet and upholstery cleaning process?

Our process covers dry-soil removal, suitable pre-spray, agitation where appropriate, hot water extraction on suitable materials, optional deodorising and airflow to support drying. We adapt or omit stages to suit the carpet or upholstery rather than use every machine on every item.

What is hot water extraction cleaning?

Hot water extraction rinses suitable carpet or upholstery fibres with an appropriate cleaning solution and recovers loosened dirt, residues and moisture through extraction. Ultra Clean uses an Ashbys Enforcer, adapting the method and pressure to the material.

Is your cleaning process the same for carpets and upholstery?

No. Both need material-appropriate care, but carpet vacuuming and brushing equipment is not used on every fabric. We choose preparation, cleaning solutions, tools and extraction settings for the item’s material, condition and level of soiling.

Can you remove every stain from a carpet or sofa?

No cleaning process can guarantee removal of every stain. The material, cause and age of the mark, permanent damage and previous treatments affect the result. Tell us about stains when you enquire so we can discuss realistic expectations.

What is the Lotus & Cotton treatment?

Lotus & Cotton is our signature fragrance for a suitable optional deodorising finish. Tell us about fragrance preferences or sensitivities before the appointment. Treatment suitability and any antibacterial benefit depend on the actual product and its approved instructions.

How long will carpets and upholstery take to dry?

Drying varies with the material, pile or fabric thickness, ventilation, room temperature and retained moisture. We use a Dri-Pod to support airflow across cleaned floor surfaces and explain drying and aftercare for the individual job. We do not promise one drying time for every clean.

How should I prepare for my cleaning appointment?

Share your postcode, the items and their sizes, care-label information, stains and any previous treatments. Tell us about parking, stairs, access and furniture. We will explain preparation for the agreed work before the appointment; check before moving large or heavy items.
